Ransomware presents a significant threat to organizations of all types and sizes. Its ability to quickly render data and systems unusable can make its impact severe. With the relative ease of execution and high return on investment when ransoms are paid, these types of attacks are only predicted to continue.

These factors have led to increased discourse among cyber security vendors and experts on how best to deal with the threat of ransomware. When attempting to defend themselves against ransomware outbreaks, organizations can find a plethora of potential solutions to choose from.
These solutions may all be effective; however, security teams have a finite set of resources with which they can implement capabilities. This presents the distinct need for a prioritized set of recommendations for protecting organizations against ransomware outbreaks
